Alam naman natin na kapag tumaas ang gasolina sa Pinas, lahat tataas – meat, veggies, rice, corn, sugar, salt, LPG, pamasahe, pandesal at kung anik-anik pa. Tipid bigla mga Pinoy, kahit pa sabihing they are receiving monthly dollars from their siblings working abroad night and day just to send hard-earned money to their loved ones in the Philippines.

The Tall Order By Mon DatolMy whole family was awed watching the special TFC TV Patrol Linggo news coverage of the Typhoon ‘Ondoy’ wrath on Metro Manila. Halos maiyak ang misis ko at dalawang anak na babae seeing how parents were trying to transport their children to safety, particularly that TV footage showing a baby girl inside a Styrofoam box being guided to high place by her mother while wading thru a chest-high flood somewhere in Pasig. Wow! Those spine-tingling, nerve-wrecking TV footages awoke Filipinos minds of the Philippine government’s inability and unpreparedness to face challenges of such magnitude. And basing on TV footages, nawala halos lahat ang government officials at the height of the deluge!
