‘Bring 'em on’- Donaire

Nonito Donaire Jr.LAS VEGAS - Newly crowned WBC and WBO bantamweight king Nonito Donaire just can’t wait to lay his hands on another foe. He wants to return to the ring the soonest possible time and unite all the bantamweight belts and climb another division afterwards.

Days after sending a strong signal to the world with a frightening second-round knockout of Mexican mauler Fernando Montiel, the Filipino-American said he wants to return to the ring at the soonest possible time.

Anselmo Moreno of Panama, the reigning WBA bantamweight champion, has been mentioned as a possibility for a fight to be held in San Francisco sometime in May.

Pacquiao is 7-1 favoriteTORONTO (January 31, 2011) – Filipinos here in Canada are again preparing another party among themselves May 7 when their boxing hero Manny Pacquiao climbs the ring to defend his WBO welterweight crown against a tested and veteran campaigner Shane Mosley at the plush  MGM Grand Casino Hotel in Las Vegas.

Pacquiao's encounter with Mosley was met with few positive reactions from large sections of the international press when it was first announced last year despite some pundits’ claim that Mosley was over the hill after a one-sided loss to Floyd Mayweather and a boring draw against Sergio Mora.

Others strongly criticized Pacquiao for not taking on young undefeated champion Andre Berto or once more squaring off with long-time blabbermouth-rival Juan Manuel Marquez of Mexico whom the Filipino boxing icon decked four times in the first encounter and once more in the second.

Pacquiao - Cotto in New YorkBAGUIO CITY, Philippines – Freddie Roach is calling this fight 50-50.

The three-time Trainer of the Year who had correctly predicted knockouts in Manny Pacquiao’s most recent fights has found big reasons to say that the Nov. 14 showdown between his pupil and WBO welterweight champion Miguel Cotto is going to be close.

“It could be a very hard fight. He’s strong. He’s a 147-pounder. And he’s a good puncher. He has a good left hook to the body,” Roach, who is now in deep training with his ward in the Pines City told some scribes after one of Pacquiao hard training.
